The Brewery, is located in the historical and emotional center of Johannesburg, in Soweto - Orlando West.

A mere stones throw from the world-famous Vilakasi Street with its busy taverns

and the Hector Peterson Memorial.

Soweto Brewing Company, founded in 2012, was created with the vision of bringing the success of local brewing into a township environment; to create a world-class beer that is truly Sowetan.

The Brewery plant is built on state-of-the-art German brewing technology and manufactured by the largest internationally acclaimed brewery manufacturer in China.

 

The Founding Partners visited the factory in China in August 2013

to order the complete 20HL Brewery on the spot . The Brewery was shipped

towards the end of 2014 and after several months of commissioning, testing,

modification and training, the first brew of

Soweto Gold - Superior Lager was brewed in August 2014. 

 

The opening of the Brewery coincided with the 20 year celebration

of South African democracy and freedom.
